“Let There Be Rock sees AC/DC’s religious-like respect for the simple art of making rock & roll brought to its logical conclusion: a veritable gospel to the glory of rock, canonized here in hymn-like worship. The near-epic title track to what is widely regarded as the best Bon Scott-era album, the song is a holy testimony, bringing good news to all those who believe in the healing power of rock & roll – amen! Oh yeah, it also kicks unholy ass!”
–Eduardo Rivadavia, AllMusic

Let There Be Rock is the band’s fourth studio album first released by Albert Productions in March 1977. This is the last album with Mark Evans on bass before he left the band. Let There Be Rock marked a resurgence of activity and motivation in the band when America’s Atlantic Records threatened to drop them. The band amped up their performance and prevented themselves from sudden irrelevance. The international version of the album also featured the first appearance of their iconic logo while the Australian version still retained the original. Whatever the cover, Let There Be Rock is the album that put the band back on the rock & roll map.
