“Love Me Do,” a new song, has been released at record stores across the United Kingdom. It was the Beatles’ debut 45, albeit the name didn’t mean anything to many English fans outside of Manchester and Liverpool at the time. Fast forward to the present, the Beatles are now one of the world-renowned bands of our time. Their LPs and their Box Sets are now a part of music history, and they are sold as collectible memorabilia for the band’s avid listeners.

The Beatles published 12 studio albums (17 in the United States), 6 live albums, 54 compilation albums, 36 extended plays (EPs), 63 singles, 17 box sets, 22 video albums, and 68 music videos worldwide. They released 12 studio albums, 13 extended plays (EPs), including one double EP, and 22 singles in their home country of the United Kingdom. Their early albums and singles were issued on Parlophone from 1962 to 1967, and their albums and singles from 1968 to 1970 were published on their subsidiary label Apple. They also release vault material, remixed mash-ups, and anniversary box sets.

Aside from anniversaries, box sets were also introduced as collections of their most famous hits. One such box set is the Beatles Collection 14 x Records 1978 Aussie Blue Box Set. The Beatles also released some LPs such as the The Beatles Let It Be 1970 Aussie 1st Apple Records Pressing LP.

The Beatles’ core catalogue was harmonised worldwide with the first CD releases of their albums in 1987, to include their original UK studio albums released in 1963-1970, the 1967 US Magical Mystery Tour LP, and the Past Masters compilation, the latter two of which include recordings released from 1962-1970 that are not present on the UK albums (mainly non-album singles and B-sides). Other previous titles have since been republished in digital and vinyl formats. Calderstone Productions of Universal Music Enterprises presently distributes the collection. This core repertoire covers all 219 tracks planned for commercial distribution by the Beatles between 1962 and 1970, whether as album tracks or singles .

The Beatles’ worldwide history is more convoluted since various copies of their albums were occasionally published in other countries, notably during their early years on Capitol Records in North America. Prior to 1967, it was a normal procedure for British releases to be repackaged for the American market. The first seven British Beatles albums were transformed into 10 LPs for the American market, with content from singles and UK EPs added. With the exception of Magical Mystery Tour, studio releases from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967 onward were consistent in both the UK and the US. The band’s first eight albums were released on Parlophone. Beginning with the single “Hey Jude” and the album The Beatles (better known as “the White Album”) in both the UK and the US in 1968, new releases came under the Beatles’ own Apple record label, while Parlophone and Capitol catalogue numbers continued to be utilized for contractual reasons.
