Born in Scotland, James Dixon Barnes is an Australian rock singer. He’s among the best and most popular Australian artists of all time, thanks to 17 number 1s and the highest number of hit albums in the Australian market. Jimmy Barnes joined the band Fraternity in 1974 taking the role of singer left by soon-to-be AC/DC vocalist Bon Scott. He then joined a band called Orange whose members included Don Walker and Ian Moss. The band later called itself Cold Chisel which gained fame in the Australian scene.

Jimmy left Cold Chisel in 1983 and went solo.
