- Comments: The last date of the 1855-1918 Australian Half Sovereign Series, the Perth Mint's 1918P Half Sovereign is one of Australia's great gold rarities - and one of its most intriguing. Official Perth Mint records suggest it should not exist! Although those records indicate that no half sovereigns were produced in 1918, it is thought that approximately 200 to 300 examples were indeed struck. With so few thought to exist, it will come as no surprise that this extremely rare coin is seldom seen on the market. Naturally a key to the Australian Gold Half Sovereign Series, we have just the single example of this illustrious rarity in stock - in premium grade Extremely Fine condition.
